SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Pin/unpin an icon
2. Reboot
3. See if it was saved

OBSERVED RESULT
Every change of position and pinned/unpinned actions get reset and there is the default set of icons.

EXPECTED RESULT
After rebooting icons should organized the way they were organized before the reboot.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro Linux x86_64 shipped with plasma
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.5

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I haven't changed a single thing in the settings, just installed the newest version of Manjaro with plasma and wanted to edit what icons are displayed in the icon-only task manager. After rebooting they just went back to default. As long as the system runs, they stay the way I organized them, but go to the starting set (dolphin, konsole, firefox, software manager) after every reboot. It's tedious to have to rearrange them again every single time I start my computer.

Thanks for the report, I believe I've seen an issue like this before and it was because plasmashell or one of the KDE components was crashing and not exiting cleanly and saving the pinned/unpinned changes.

Can you please check if there any recent crashes that line up with when your Plasma session is starting or ending. The command coredumpctl should list them for you from a Konsole terminal.
