Att2 main toolbar katePARTVIEW
please IGNORE the penultimate sentence in section "1." from my bugfile original post: "in this case rearranging the toolbar "main toolbar <kate> is not possible, because its handle is not drawn (see screenshot "Att3 main toolbar katePARTVIEW handle missing")." > the "open menu"-button (i.e. the hamburger button itself) is never shown
It will show when you hide the Main Menu (Ctrl + M)

Created attachment 173051 [details] Att1 hamburger menu toolbar kate - hamburger button missing the following problems affect kate and kwrite (24.08) on my fedora 40 systems and kate on windows 10 (23.08): 1. i'm talking about the "settings" -> "configure toolbars" menu: -- regarding the "hamburger menu toolbar <kate>" which can be selected in the "toolbars" selection drop down menu: the "open menu"-button (i.e. the hamburger button itself) is never shown, wether it has been placed in the right "current actions" column or not. (see screenshot "Att1 hamburger menu toolbar kate - hamburger button missing") -- there are 2 further toolbars in the "toolbar" selection drop down menu whose relationship is unclear: one is called "main toolbar <kate>". the other is called "main toolbar <KatePartView>". it can happen that entries (i.e. buttons/icons) assigned to "main toolbar <kate>" end up in the middle of "main toolbar <katePARTVIEW>" (see screenshot "Att2 main toolbar katePARTVIEW"). in this case rearranging the toolbar "main toolbar <kate> is not possible, because its handle is not drawn (see screenshot "Att3 main toolbar katePARTVIEW handle missing"). it can also happen that the order of the entries (i.e. buttons/icons) assigned to "main toolbar <katePARTVIEW>" gets totally mixed up (see also screenshot "Att2 main toolbar katePARTVIEW") 2. there is also no checkbox for the toolbar "main toolbar <kate>" in "settings" -> "toolbars shown", as the entry "main toolbar" refers to "main toolbar <katePARTVIEW>. 3. when "lock toolbar positions" is unchecked there is no handle drawn for the toolbar "main toolbar <kate>" (but only for the toolbars "main toolbar <katePARTVIEW> and "hamburger menu toolbar <kate>". 4. not all buttons/icons are available for placement at any toolbar. i think this is very confusing. e.g.: -- "undo" and "redo" are only available for "main toolbar <katePARTVIEW>" -- "new" is only available for "main toolbar <kate>" -- "open" is only available for "main toolbar <kate> and "hamburger menu <kate>" but NOT for "main toolbar <katePARTVIEW>" system info (fedora): Operating System: Fedora Linux 40 KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.5.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 Kernel Version: 6.10.6-200.fc40.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland
