SUMMARY
Sending files to my Android devices does not work from Windows. I have not tried my Linux computer as it's downstairs and I can't be bothered.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Pair an Android device with a Windows 10 computer.
2. Configure the send/receive file plugin such that it is sending to a folder which the app can write to.
3. While not in the KDE Connect app on Android, send a file from the Windows device to the Android device.
4. See that the KDE Connect "Tap to open" notification appears, but there is no file name attached and tapping the notification does nothing.
5. If desired, set up a Linux device to send files to the same folder on Android and see that this functions just fine.

OBSERVED RESULT
I instantly receive the "file downloaded" notification on Android, but the file does not exist.

EXPECTED RESULT
I would wait a bit for it to download and the file would be there.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10 (OS build 19045.4651)
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0
Qt Version: 6.6.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I can confirm that it is not a folder permissions issue on Android. The linux computer mentioned earlier sends files to the same folder and it works fine, at least when using the CLI in a bash script. It is not this device being problematic either as it is capable of ping, transmitting notifications and syncing clipboard.

I know this version of KDE Connect is slightly outdated. Short of building it myself there is no way to obtain the most recent version on Windows; it is not distributed on any of the three sources linked on the download page.

Windows KDE Connect will not send files to any device, and will not send clipboard to my Linux computer.

I tested the process on two different Android devices and also updated the default location on my Windows system, but I am still unable to send files from Windows to the Android device.

A workaround is to click on the KDE Connect icon (located at the bottom right, next to the network/internet access or inside the hidden icons), select the device you want to send the files to, and then choose the file.

I can confirm this works

I can't even get the workaround to work. made sure it had the right permissions, settings, etc.

Oh wait, I did it wrong. When doing the workaround you have to right click the tray icon. (I was left clicking which opens the app lol)

I can reproduce it on Windows 11 23H2 and kdeconnect 25.11.70 (master 5298)

It seems that the send file functionality is completely broken in the main app window. How can this be a major open bug since more than a year? Especially when the function works from the tray icon...
