Seems widget-related. Do you by any chance have any 3rd-party widgets? Can you test real fast with a new clean user account that has no customizations made to it? (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Seems widget-related. Do you by any chance have any 3rd-party widgets? Can > you test real fast with a new clean user account that has no customizations > made to it? I also suspect widgets based on the backtrace. I wanted to track down some reference to a specific widget in gdb, but there are too many compiler optimizations for me. Maybe it would help me if one of the developers could advise me which frame to focus on and how to dump the necessary variable content to reveal the conflicting widget. I've tried deleting the ~/.config/plasma* files and gradually setting up the environment again as needed. I did suspend/resume continuously. As soon as I added the 'cpu usage' and 'memory usage' widgets, it started crashing again on waking from sleep. So I suspect the 'cpu usage' and 'memory consumption' widgets from this. I place them in the bottom panel to the left of the clock. I use the 'line graph' view in them. Unfortunately widgets don't get their own threads, so this can't be debugged like that. I'm afraid you'll have to remove widgets one at a time until Plasma stops crashing. Then the last-removed widget will be the problem. Created attachment 173189 [details]
'CPU usage' and 'memory usage' widgets
I confirm that the crash is caused by the 'CPU usage' and 'memory usage' widgets. I am attaching a picture of how I have them configured.
Thanks a lot! Does the crash persist when: - the widgets are in their default state on your panel? - the widgets are in their default state on the desktop - the widgets are in your customized state on the desktop? ๐๐งน โ ๏ธ This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days.
