Description lgmrszd 2024-08-08 10:07:08 UTC
Created attachment 172392 [details]
Screencast of volume popup as I change volume from 0% to 100% and back

SUMMARY
I have default volume change step (5%), but sometimes I change volume (by scrolling on the applet icon or by using headset volume buttons) it jumps 1% back right after changing by 5%
This sounds very similar to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434769, but I am not sure if it is the same bug: in my case, volume does change correctly but quickly changes to incorrect one.
(For some reason, I don't get this bug on another system that has been upgraded from Plasma 5, but both systems are NixOS on unstable channel)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Change volume incrementally by scrolling on the applet from 0% to 100%. Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this on another system.

OBSERVED RESULT
Volume increments by 5% but then decrements by 1% for every second or so step (also see attachment)

EXPECTED RESULT
Volume increments by 5% correctly

Can't reproduce on git master either. I also don't see where the current code could go wrong.
Comment 3 Harald Sitter 2024-10-03 22:48:22 UTC
Would be interesting if this is still a problem in 6.2.

I don't know at what point this happened, but it appears the issue resolved itself after one of the system updates. Not sure if status needs to be changed given it is already marked as Resolved. Running now on:

KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.8.0
Qt Version: 6.8.0
Kernel Version: 6.6.62 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Pipewire version: 1.2.6
