SUMMARY
When adjusting Balance levels on a laptop with the headphone jack connected to a hi-fi audio system, it rapidly becomes quite annoying having to pop up the Test button, check the balance of perceived volume levels, close the pop-up, make a small adjustment, pop up the Test button, repeat until surround-sound levels are balanced, a complex task the systems designer seems to have never done before. Wish: either a repeating left-right back and forth audio while adjusting levels or a persistent Test pop-up that remains open until the user is satisfied with the balance and clicks a Done button.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect HDMI port to wide-screen TV, Headphone jack to the power or pre-amp module of a room stereo system at rear of room, adjust levels via wireless mouse/keyboard.
2. Place the listener off to the side of the sofa on a rocker-recliner chair.
3. Adjust balance levels so the off-center listener perceives center stage.
4. Reset balance to equal levels when guests are viewing Bluray movies from the sofa, adjust balance for off-center listening after guests have departed.
5. Repeat 4 on another evening before guests arrive.
