Created attachment 172060 [details] Warning on startup SUMMARY digiKam 8.4 cannot automatically find the bundled exiftool on Windows. It also cannot be manually configured to use it. This issue occurs on two different Windows 10 computers that I upgraded from digiKam 8.3.0 to 8.4.0 STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install digiKam 8.3.0 on Windows 10. 2. Go to Settings --> Configure digiKam, and click on the Metadata section. 3. Note that the bundled exiftool.exe that is included with digiKam is automatically detected here. Everything looks good! 4. Now, upgrade to digiKam 8.4.0 as normal. 5. Run digiKam. Note the warning on startup, as seen in the attached screenshot. 6. Go to Settings --> Configure digiKam, and click on the Metadata section. OBSERVED RESULT exiftool.exe is not automatically seen by digiKam. Clicking the "Find" button and manually browsing to the installed exiftool.exe included with digiKam does not appear to do anything. EXPECTED RESULT exiftool.exe should be automatically detected by digiKam, without requiring user intervention. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: Windows 10 22H2 (OS Build 19045.4651) Qt Version: I used the digiKam-8.4.0-Qt6-Win64.exe installer.
