SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install/upgrade Digikam 8.4.0 Windows 64bit version (with qt6) to Windows 11
2. Launch it
3.

OBSERVED RESULT

On top of main window, I see a warning that "exiftool" wasn't found and I should set its location on preferences.

EXPECTED RESULT

Digikam launched without complaining.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 11 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3958 )
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.2.0
Qt Version: 6.7.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

It is possible to install exiftool binary to Windows via chocolate etc however it exceeds regular users capabilities and not that practical as on Linux/BSD. You would still have to pinpoint the directory which is
C:\ProgramData\chocolatey\lib\exiftool\toolsv\exiftool
