We thought it was some special feature of the program, such as warning that alarms will not be sounded after the reboot if the feature is disabled, but the problem goes beyond that, kalarm does not respect the user's decision and always starts the program at system KDE Plasma startup.

Bug confirmed.

Is KAlarm listed in the Autostart section in KDE System Settings?

After unchecking the checkbox 'Start at login' and then quitting KAlarm or logging out before quitting KAlarm, KAlarm should no longer start at login UNLESS you start KAlarm again. Every time KAlarm is started, it will reset the 'Start at login' status to true, so that KAlarm will then be autostarted again. See the KAlarm handbook (https://docs.kde.org/stable5/en/kalarm/kalarm/preferences.html#preferences-general).

Did you start KAlarm again after unchecking the checkbox?

Please also attach a copy of your KAlarm configuration file, ~/.config/kalarmrc

The requested information was supplied in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=492636#c1.

KAlarm's autostart configuration, as set in KAlarm's Configuration dialog, has been rationalised to make it more understandable (see commit bf7613739c6ab3a1ea9f818d46f208a4d0d876d6), which was released in KAlarm version 3.10.0 (KDE Gear 24.12). This should both fix the bug and make the autostart mechanism more understandable.

If KAlarm version 3.10.0 or later still has this bug, please reopen this report and describe the problem as fully as possible.
