SUMMARY
Icons Only TaskManager will switch windows on small previews but not on large previews (shown as "present windows" effect).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install KDE
2. Set Icons Only task manager to Group="group by program name", clicked group task = "show large window previews"
3. Open 2 Konsole windows
4. Click konsole icon in task manager
5. See "present windows"
6. Click a window (excluding top left corner)

OBSERVED RESULT
1. Prior window/task comes back into focus

EXPECTED RESULT
1. Clicked window/task comes into focus

Do I take this to man that you started out with GNOME or some other desktop environment, and then manually installed a bunch of KDE packages?

No. I meant I installed KDE only firist. I run Fedora KDE only. I do not use Gnome. 

A little late to the party.

This problem has been fixed as of Fedora 41.
