Sentry Crash Report:

Description Morko 2024-06-27 22:48:02 UTC
Since the release of 6.1 I've encountered a problem with X11/XORG, I need X11 due to GIMP being broken on wayland but 1 program gave me a weird DE crash, Veadotube Mini for some reason crashed the desktop environment when opened and by concequence rendering Plasma useless, not even letting me shut down the computer nor take any screenshots or videos about the problem, this wasn't an issue on 6.0 nor 5.27

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run Arch linux in their latest version (Posibly my modification)
2. Use Plasma in X11/Xorg
3. Open Veadotube Mini 2.0a from the website, not the app

After opening the program, the desktop environment starts flashing a black screen, deleting the window decoration from veadotube mini, killing the wallpaper and making it unable to do any system restart from the desktop environment

Same as the above, might not kill the wallpaper

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux, Kernel 6.9.6-arch1-1
KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3.0
Qt Version: 6.7.2

This might be due to my own system configuration, I have it on github as MorinuxArch by MoriYordle so if it isn't replicated on vanilla Arch, it might be replicated on Morinux, I also don't use itch.io's app for veadotube, I downloaded it from the website and into my files, that might do something.

If something crashed, we need a backtrace of it so we can figure out what's going on. Can you please attach a backtrace of the crash using the coredumpctl command-line program, as detailed in https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports#Retrieving_a_backtrace_using_coredumpctl?

Thanks!

After the bug I stopped using Plasma on Arch, I wanted to try and replicate it on a VM but the arch installation script is not cooperating, I tried to replicate it under endeavourOS and the crashing I was getting seems to not happen anymore on neither X11 nor Wayland, it seems to be fixed on Plasma 6.1.3 indirectly.

In response to the request, I couldn't share the backtrace due to this error affecting negatively on what I do, so I changed desktop environments after a week of dealing with the Veadotube and GIMP problems I was having.

I'll mark the status as Resolved / Fixed since the bug isn't present in my testing on EndeavourOS.
