example of the incongruous highlighting

I'm attaching a picture of how the Online Accounts KCM doesn't use my chosen system highlighting color of blue. It is using gray for some reason.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. System Settings -> Networking/Online Accounts
2. Click +Add New Account and go through process to add an account
3. A new account is listed under Online Accounts, as show in the attached screenshot

OBSERVED RESULT

The highlighting for the list items is incorrectly rendered with white text on a gray background. I'm not sure where this gray comes from because the system color I've chosen is blue.

EXPECTED RESULT

The item background color should be your defined system color, in my case blue. This can be observed in the left-hand column of System Settings where the "Online Accounts" item is highlighted in blue, not gray.

It looks like your styling is generally broken; are you using qt6ct or Kvantum?

Nope, not using Kvantum, just Breeze Dark. But I am able to hone in on this so that you can see what I'm talking about.

1) I created a new user to get a pristine experience
2) logged in to that user
3) noted that the default theme is regular "light" Breeze, not dark; the default accent color matches the wallpaper, which is orange in this case
4) followed the steps I mentioned in STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
- System Settings -> Networking/Online Accounts
- Click +Add New Account and go through process to add an account
- in my case it was a new NextCloud account (because trying to add a Google account rejects the built-in browser for some reason)
5) back in the System Settings -> Networking/Online Accounts, ***with the Breeze light theme***, notice that there is no highlighting for the newly created NextCloud list item; it is just black text on a white background (see 1st attached screen shot)
6) in System Settings -> Colors & Themes -> Global Theme, change to Breeze Dark
7) go back to System Settings -> Networking/Online Accounts
8) notice that the background for the list item is ***gray***, not yellow as it should be (see 2nd attached screen shot)

The Networking/Online Accounts is doing something weird with ignoring the accent color highlighting and is not consistent with the rest of the theme. Since this was a pristine user, no Kvantum or any other theme manager was used.

Let me know if you can reproduce this.

Hello, I provided the feedback in #c3 and #c4
Comment 7 Nate Graham 2024-07-20 16:31:25 UTC
Thanks for the screenshots.

Unfortunately I am unable to attempt to reproduce as none of the accounts I have seem to be working in the KCM right now. :/
