Thanks for the bug report. I don't see this problem with Plasma 6.0 or 6.1 using one of the three default themes. The problem you see is likely caused by the theme in use on your system. It looks like the theme is mixing light and dark elements incorrectly.

Running everything as root is explicitly unsupported and never recommended, and will result in a million and a half other little weirdnesses like this.

What I recommend is to try switching back to one of the default Plasma themes to see if they look OK on your system.
In System Settings, go to Global Theme and choose Breeze, Breeze Dark or Breeze Twilight.

If you would like support from KDE for issues you encounter, I would encourage you to re-install your system with a more appropriate general-purpose Linux distro, such as one of the ones you can see at https://kde.org/distributions. If the issue still manifests after doing so, feel free to re-open this bug report.
