Description mi+kde 2002-10-07 19:37:22 UTC
Version: 1.4.3 (using KDE 3.0.3)
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 3.2.1 [FreeBSD] 20020916 (prerelease)
OS: FreeBSD (i386) release 5.0-CURRENTFreeBSD (i386) release 5.0-CURRENT

The kmail's spawning of external editor makes some sense once
you are used to it -- when you start editing, the editor is brought
up. However, KMail seems to overreact sometimes, misinterpreting
mere modifier keys, like Alt, Ctrl, or Shift as attempt to edit.

This is rather annoying when one is trying to drag the composing
window around with the mouse and the Alt-key, for example...

That said, I'd prefer to have to spawn the external editor explicitly,
when needed, possibly, even choosing between a few, like in
TkRat2.

Yours,

This has been fixed in cvs for KDE 3.1. KMail now ignores Shift, Ctrl,
Alt and Meta.
