Description Rogelio Domínguez Hernández 2024-06-04 13:09:22 UTC
SUMMARY
In previous versions, 22.12 at least, there was a "Cut" tool to remove a part of the image Horizontally or Vertically. It was very useful and now that I've upgraded to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (with kde-spectacle 23.08.5-0ubuntu3) I see is not there anymore

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open Spectacle 23.08 by pressing printscreen key
2. click on "Show annotation tools" button

OBSERVED RESULT
"Cut" tool is missing

EXPECTED RESULT
"Cut" tool is available

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.11
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0
Qt Version: 5.15.13

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=467590 is for the Crop tool which is also missing

a workaround is to downgrade:
cd /tmp
wget http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/k/kde-spectacle/kde-spectacle_22.12.3-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i kde-spectacle_22.12.3-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
sudo apt-mark hold kde-spectacle

There's a crop tool in the Plasma 6.3 release that can be used to do this.
