The accounts service intentionally does not support modifying the root user, and the entire reason this system module exists and makes use of the AS is to remove the need for graphical usage of root. This is an unsupported usecase on multiple fronts. (In reply to Janet Blackquill from comment #1) In which case, would you accept this as a WISHLIST? (In reply to Roke Julian Lockhart Beedell from comment #2) I ask because the superuser appearing in the KCM does not mean that its attributes need to be modifiable - merely viewable, as https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=169756&action=edit demonstrates that they already are, before another user is selected.
