SUMMARY
When trying to upgrade to the newly released Kubuntu 24, a window "Update Failed - KDE Daemon" (kded5) pops up, showing "Upgrade failed with the following output:" and an empty box.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Click on upgrade
2. See the window after a short interval

OBSERVED RESULT
A window with no output.

EXPECTED RESULT
A window telling you what to do

This bug seems to be known since at least Kubuntu 22

This issue needs to be reported to the Kubuntu folks, since the updater code they use belongs to them.
