SUMMARY
I wish there is an option to disable by clicking selected file's name. I don't need to edit file names that often, and it is too often executed by a mistake. I can rename files using the easy shortcut F2, so I do not need this renaming by clicking the name, but I could not find any option to disable it.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In details view mode
2. Select a file by clicking the file name once.
3. Click the file name once again.

OBSERVED RESULT
Renaming starts.

EXPECTED RESULT
I wish I could disable this.

I believe the feature you want is already present. If you go to
Settings - Configure Dolphin - View
On the General tab, uncheck "Rename single items inline"

Does this do what you want?

Whilst it does disable rename by accidental clicks, it shows a separate pop-up dialogue box, instead of the inline editing, when I actually want to rename the file by pressing F2, which is not what I want. But, I think the convenience of not getting accidental renaming weighs more than the inconvenience of using a pop-up dialogue for renaming, so I think I can use this.
