SUMMARY

This ticket is a request to add a way for users to change the location of subtitles in kdenlive

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open kdenlive
2. Click Project -> Subtitles -> Edit Subtitle tool
3. Double-click somewhere in the "Subtitle" timeline
4. Type "this is a subtitle"
5. Press <enter>
6. Realize that the subtitle is so low on the video that it will be covered-up by the playback controls
7. Try to move the subtitle higher
8. ???
9. Search the internet for how to move the subitlte higher
10. Find this (saying it's not possible and to file a bug report here) https://discuss.kde.org/t/subtitle-change-predefined-position/1492
11. File bug report

OBSERVED RESULT

There doesn't appear to be an option to change the default position for subtitles

EXPECTED RESULT

There should be a global setting that users can alter in the UI to make the subtitles appear in a different location (eg higher up the screen, so that the YouTube playback controls won't cover-up the subtitles)

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Debian Linux, but not relevant.

Change of subtitle location will be possible with the upcoming version 24.12. Even more adjustments will be possible with the new ASS subtitle format editor.
