SUMMARY


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.  Set the panel to autohide
2.  Change desktop/workspace
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT
Very high GPU utilisation (looking at intel_gpu_top) which makes the whole system slow

EXPECTED RESULT
GPU utilisation as normal 

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 
macOS:
 Linux/KDE Plasma:  Wayland 6.0.4, Endeavour OS
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version:  6.0.4,
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.1.0
Qt Version: 6.7.0

Can you share output of :

qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin org.kde.KWin.supportInformation 

whilst it is using high CPU

also confirm it goes away if you run systemctl --user stop plasma-plasmashell

Output shared, also can also confirm the problem goes away. The problem only exists with a hidden panel.
