SUMMARY


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.  Open an app
2.  Right click the app icon and select pin to task manager
3.  restart plasmashell or reboot

OBSERVED RESULT
The icon just added is missing both in wayland and X11

EXPECTED RESULT
The icon can be reserved on the panel

Windows:

When dragging icon to taskbar, it persist reboots or shell restarts

But when using "Right Click on icon > Pin to task manager", does it does not persist shell restart

unpinning the default icons such as system settings and file maanger or browser won't persist after logging back in

This is most likely a duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481113, which was fixed for Plasma 6.1.

Although that shouldn't have affected neon I think; sometimes weird things happen (and one person in that thread also said they were on neon). Can you test with a current version and see if it works now?

yes, it was fixed in the recent neon version. Thanks for the information.
