It seems like it wouldn't be difficult to save the currently selected wallpaper and/or the previous default wallpaper(s) and add them to the wallpapers available after a Plasma upgrade We do the old wallpapers all get added to the plasma-workspace-wallpapers package. If you're not seeing the old wallpaper, it means this package isn't installed, which means your distro isn't following https://community.kde.org/Distributions/Packaging_Recommendations. You might want to talk to them about it, and ask for plasma-workspace-wallpapers to be pre-installed by default or made a mandatory dependency of plasma-workspace or something. Thanks Nate. Installing plasma6-workspace-wallpapers did indeed bring the old wallpapers back. It's good to know this is being done from the KDE side. I've opened https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1228603 to ask if openSUSE can install that package by default. Great! |
