STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect to your PC/Laptop external monitor (I tested with HDMI) with resolution greater than built in
(In laptop I have 1920 × 1080 and in external monitor: 2560 x 1440)
2. On external monitor open konsole
3. Move window to right side (right bottom corner of desktop)
4. resize konsole window to had 1/4 of screen
4. Disconnect cord with external monitor
OBSERVED RESULT
konsole window moved to built in display, but became cut and correctly placed at left right corner (like originally)
EXPECTED RESULT
konsole window should be visible entirely
Issue happens only at the very first time when I start Plasma. After second time when I plug off and plug in HDMI cable then all is fine. My laptop is connected to external monitor (27") via HDMI. When starting, lid is closed. And now when I plasma finished its start (all windows are restored) I plug off HDMI cable and open lid. I can see mess on the desktop (on builtin display), I mean all windows are very much decreased. Now I resize windows, connect again HDMI cable and all seems look good. Again disconnect cable and on builtin display still is all fine. |
Created attachment 168006 [details] desktop in buillt-in display Usually I work on big screen (NEC with res.: 2560x1440) and closed lid. After I disconnect my external display and start KDE/Plasma on built in display (res. 1920x1080) I get not scaled correctly gtk windows - to detailed I mean Firefox (check attached screen shot) which seems to not scaled at all to lower resolution and for example title bar isn't visible. SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Connect external monitor with resolution greater that that placed in build in display 2. Configure the system to work with closed lid and external monitor as primary 3. Set save recent session 4. Start couple Firefox windows and resize them to size bigger than built in display. 5. Start konsole and resize it to be 80 rows and 30 rows 6. Turn off PC 7. Disconnect external monitor 8. Start PC 9. Login do KDE/Plasma OBSERVED RESULT Firefox windows are too big to fit current display, so title bar isn't visible Konsole is very small window (check screen shots) EXPECTED RESULT Firefox should be scaled to fit lower screen resolution Konsole should not be very small (couple cols and couple rows) SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.1.0 Qt Version: 6.2.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
