Raising the window and closing the tabbox is intentional in plasma 6. Perhaps we should display the preview on hover. |
Created attachment 167766 [details] video SUMMARY In plasma 5 you used to be able to press alt-tab, and then while holding alt, click on an individual element in the tabbox to see the window preview in the background. Now in plasma 6.0.2 if i do this the window gets raised but the tabbox closes immediately. I can still use the window close buttons to close windows without closing the tabbox though. This is observed with Thumbnail Grid on both x11 and Wayland. I'm not 100% sure this is a bug but when i switch to any other type of tabbox - Compact, Sidebar, Flip Switch - they all work as intended from the previous version. Is this a bug or intended behavior? I don't seem to see anything in journaltctl. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have Thumbnail Grid selected as kwin's tabbox style 2. Press alt-tab and hold alt 3. Select a window with mouse OBSERVED RESULT Window gets raised and tabbox disappears EXPECTED RESULT Window is previewed in the background, tabbox does not disappear and element gets selected in the tabbox with the usual Breeze outline.
