Can you get a backtrace for the hanging kill helper? Should be possible with
> gdb -p $(pidof kwin_kill_helper)
and then "bt" to get the backtrace
It's kinda tricky because I don't get it very often. I didn't have unresponsive windows since May 2nd so I am just leaving a note here that I didn't miss that message. Created attachment 167587 [details] kill helper window SUMMARY When I get "Not responding" dialog, it also becomes unresponsive. When I try to close kwin_kill_helper, that is not responding, it also creates new kwin_kill_helper that is also "Not responding". That makes killing unresponsive apps quite challenging. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Wait for app to freeze 2. Try to close OBSERVED RESULT kwin_kill_helper itself freezes EXPECTED RESULT kwin_kill_helper not freezing SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 Kernel Version: 6.6.22-1-lts (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11
