STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Krita
2. Click on File Menu
3. Click on Open

OBSERVED RESULT Krita closes without ever opening the file browser

EXPECTED RESULT Window opens and I can browse for a file to open.

Hi, 
Please write what Krita package you use. 
If it is the community Flatpak, it is known to have issues, but it's not maintained by the Krita team.

Workaround: use the appimage distributed by Krita developpers on krita.org

Cool. I hope the team behind the Flatpak will fix it soon. 
I'll mark the report as resolved/downstream because there is nothing Krita dev can do.
