SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20240314
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0
Qt Version: 6.6.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I have Nvidia driver .run installed manually. Version 550.54.14 (I have a GTX 1070).
DKMS is installed and I say yes to DKMS in the driver installation. I also say yes to rebuild filesystem.
I put in kernel parameters the options: nvidia-drm.modeset=1 fbdev=1

After a lot of days, my surprise is that making a new user (testing user) can enter good in Plasma Wayland (all desktop by default).
But if I try enter with my user in Plasma Wayland, again the black screen. The only form of exit is do Ctrl+Alt+F1 to change to a tty, Ctrl+Alt+F2 to return to black screen and kill it with Ctrl+Alt+Backspace x2. With this spawns again sddm and I can log in Plasma X11 only.

If more information is needed, please tell me. I am a newbie generating bug reports and I don't know how to do the debug process.

Best regards

I'm certainly no expert, but this happened to me. I deleted the kdeglobals file in the /home/your user/.config/ folder, rebooted (thus resetting the settings) and everything returned to normal.

I tried to delete (previous backup) $HOME/.config/kdeglobals and reboot. I choose Plasma Wayland and the black screen persists.

I make a look to $HOME/.local/share/sddm/wayland-session.log and contains this:

cat $HOME/.local/share/sddm/wayland-session.log
/tmp/xsess-env-V6rXmY: línea 36: PROFILEREAD: variable de sólo lectura

If I search in internet "fichero /tmp/xsess-env-V6rXmY" (without quotes) I find these:

https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/1768

In it it says that it does not enter Wayland unless it is uninstalling Fish...

In my regular user I have Fish +Tyde by default. In the test user (user that can enter in Plasma Wayland) there is only Bash (you can type fish by change to fish but not by default).

If I try to set it Fish by default in the testing user inside Plasma Wayland session with:

chsh -s /usr/bin/fish

It doesn't set it by default. And I have restarted the computer, but I still cannot set fish by default in testing user inside Plasma Wayland.

I don't try to uninstall Fish in my regular user (the Plasma X11 user that can't enter in Wayland). I am very comfortable with Fish (more than Bash).

Why the testing user can't put Fish by default? Is possible that the problem is Fish by default in my regular user?

Greetings
