SUMMARY
***
When logged in as a regular user, and then using the super-user version of Dolphin to copy/paste, I am able to "copy" the files but everywhere I try to paste them the "paste" option (from the right-click menu) is missing. Ctrl-V doesn't work either. Under the menu-bar if you click "Edit" the Paste option is greyed out.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the "Super User" version of file manager
2. Browse to a folder and right-click on a file and select "copy"
3. Right-click and there is no "paste" option. Additionally "paste" in the pull-down menu's is greyed out

OBSERVED RESULT
Unable to paste while in the super-user version of Dolphin. Additionally I typically use this to copy files that are out of my regular users permission tree (such as docker volumes). If I "copy" from there in the super-user Dolphin, then open a regular dolphin the Paste option is present. However, in this case the non-super-user version of Dolphin doesn't have permission to paste the files so I get a permission error. The only way I can copy or move files (some with long difficult to type names!) is to use the console

EXPECTED RESULT
Cut/Copy/Paste work as usual for graphical programs while in the super-user version of Dolphin. This just started happening after upgrade to Plasma-6 (I'm on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed)

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: OpenSUSE Tumbleweed
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0
Qt Version: 6.6.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Tim Carr 2024-03-17 05:57:13 UTC
Option was available and seemed to work in Plasma 5.27/Dolphin 23.08, so this appears to be a regression. Could possibly be caused by the same issue as bug 482899 but I'll let someone with more experience make that judgement.

Running as a super-user is not recommended and unsupported. Please see kio-admin
