STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Installed Kdenlive flatpak.
2. Launch Kdenlive
3. Load preexisting project file.

OBSERVED RESULT
Program UI looks fine at boot, but after loading an existing project, several fonts (but not all) do not render as readable. See attached screen shot.

EXPECTED RESULT
All fonts should render properly and be readable.

Another user in this thread has reported the same issue in Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon using the Appimage of 24.02.0.

I have learned this is a known issue. There is a workaround in the comments here until there's a permanent fix:
