Description spoketire 2024-03-12 20:34:38 UTC
SUMMARY
When attempting to export to Google Photos or Google Drive, after authenticating, album list does not populate, and an error message pops up when you click on Reload. The error message is "Host requires authentication."

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select a photo
2. Click Export > Export to Google Drive
3. Go through authentication steps in web browser. (See message in browser, "Callback received. Feel free to close this page.")
4. Go back to digiKam and click Reload to populate album list.

OBSERVED RESULT
Error dialog "Host requires authentication."

EXPECTED RESULT
Google Photos album list to populate, ability to upload photos, etc.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: 6.7.6, arch

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If I click export, there's a different error saying authentication failed. Also, if I check in my google account, digiKam doesn't show up in the list of 3rd party apps connected, even though there was no error message during the authentication process.

It must be fixed in 8.3.0. You can try the pre-release bundle here :

For various reasons we changed our Google API key. Google services only work again from digiKam-8.3.0 and higher.

I Have this issue with 8.4 in Windows 10 as well

We had to change the Google API key again, it is still deactivated. Continue with Bug 490397.
