Does it help if you disable Firefox's built-in MPRIS functionality? See https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/17aohfq/how_do_i_disable_mpris_support_in_firefox/ Created attachment 166843 [details]

(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Does it help if you disable Firefox's built-in MPRIS functionality? See > https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/17aohfq/ > how_do_i_disable_mpris_support_in_firefox/ Hello, I followed the procedure on how to disable it, rebooted my PC and tested. As exhibited on the 2 new attachments, namely, "Local" and "Firefox", the media player widget does not seem to show thumbnails of local videos as well. On "Local" screenshot, I tried playing a random OBS recording using SMPlayer (Firefox is not yet launched during this time), and the widget is just showing a white square with another black square inside it. On "Firefox" screenshot, I played a YT video, and it's still not showing the thumbnail. Not really a big deal, tho. Created attachment 166847 [details]
Plasma
Disabling Plasma Integration does make it show YT thumbnails, tho, but removes the ability to seek the timeline of the video.
See "Plasma" screenshot.
Forgot to mention that I also turned MPRIS to true again after disabling the Browser integration. Created attachment 168102 [details]
Seems to be fixed now.
I'm marking this as solved, since the issue seems to have been resolved. Not sure what caused it, but I guess the recent update from Firefox fixed it.
