Description Marco Rebhan 2024-03-06 22:12:38 UTC
SUMMARY
I have "Select Word Left" and "Select Word Right" set to alt+shift+left and alt+shift+right, respectively. However, these are also the default bindings for "Next Item" and "Previous Item". Regardless of which alternative bindings I set the latter two to, or set them to empty, the original bindings keep coming back on startup, causing conflicting bindings, which I have to fix every time I start Kate. It does save them to katerc but just doesn't seem to load them.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set "Next Item" and "Previous Item" in the "kate" category to different bindings
2. Close and re-open Kate

OBSERVED RESULT
The bindings are set back to alt+shift+left and alt+shift+right

EXPECTED RESULT
The bindings should retain the previously set values

can't seem to reproduce it. I tried to clear the shortcut as well as setting it to a new one
Comment 3 Marco Rebhan 2024-03-27 19:42:09 UTC
Huh, it looks like stopped doing it for me as well. Same Kate version, same Frameworks version, but now Plasma 6.0.2. Weird.

I'll keep it open in case this needs some specific state to happen that I don't have anymore, but feel free to close if it's not reproducable.
Comment 4 Christoph Cullmann 2024-03-27 19:53:00 UTC
If it works with the current KF6 based release I think we can just close it.
