When trying to navigate files and folders in any directory with the Orca screen reader turned on, there is a consistent lag (a second or more) that impedes quick and efficient navigation.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Turn the screen reader on.
2. Open Dolphin.
3. Try to navigate files and folders with the left and right arrows
OBSERVED RESULT
There is a consistent lag that does not allow a smooth navigation.
EXPECTED RESULT
This lag should not be present at all.

This is some other information that suggests that this might be a problem either  related to Dolphin or QT: "Exception in get_child_count: atspi_error: The process appears to be hung.".

I have reworked the accessibility code of the Dolphin 25.04 release. I have also interacted with the maintainer of Orca who implemented some performance improvements for Orca 48 I think. At least from my testing, navigating files and folders with arrow keys is now instant while using the Orca screen reader. I will therefore mark this bug report as resolved for now. If you are still experiencing this slowness with the newer software versions mentioned above, please let me know. There might be other causes then.
