So after dragging the VD previews and releasing the left mouse button, the cursor events eaten by the drag events. That means after dragging the previews, I tried to drag a window in the VD but it continued dragging the previews. There's also another effect: 1) Drag a window to another VD in the overview 2) Switch the VD within the overview effect There are no more selection rectangles when hovering windows until the user actively drags a window. > There are no more selection rectangles when hovering windows until the user actively drags a window.
+ you cannot open the window or desktop by clicking on it. You really need to start a dragging event.
I would definitely consider it this bug at least "normal" but definitely not minor.
Whenever I drag a window to another VD in the Overview effect I see the following logged ``` kwin_wayland[2416]: qrc:/qt/qml/org/kde/kwin/private/effects/WindowHeapDelegate.qml:141: TypeError: Cannot read property 'activeFocusItem' of null ``` To comment 2: You don't need step 1) actually, step 2) only is sufficient! I have to reopen it unfortunately. While it somehow simply worked yesterday, since today the bug appears again. Another remark Comment 2: Not reproducible when using Ctrl+Meta+Left/Right Hotkeys. We are unable to reproduce this issue (In reply to David Edmundson from comment #8) > We are unable to reproduce this issue Looks like it got fixed with 6.0.3 somehow. :) Very weird. I've upgraded two Fedora 39 systems to Fedora 40, both running Wayland. On one system I can reproduce this issue now and on the other one I can not. For both systems holds: SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 40 KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 Kernel Version: 6.8.7-300.fc40.x86_64 (64-bit) I will see if I can figure out what makes the difference ...
