SUMMARY

I would like to file a feature request for Kate to support development in containers.

Visual Studio Code was one of the IDEs that pioneered this approach:

Now it has grown to have its own specification:

There is also a CLI tool supporting the specification:
https://containers.dev/supporting#devcontainer-cli
