SUMMARY
***
In many programs Control-Mouse-Scroll scrolls up and down. Shift-Mouse-Scroll scrolls left/right. Okular uses both Control-Mouse-Scroll and Shift-Mouse-Scroll to scroll up and down.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press Shift-Mouse-Scroll and watch the screen scroll up and down.
2. Press Control-Mouse-Scroll and watch the screen scroll up and down.

OBSERVED RESULT
Both keyboard/mouse actions do the same thing.

EXPECTED RESULT
Scrolling left/right is important too. Please remap Shift-Mouse-Scroll to scroll left/right.

In fact, horizontal scrolling is available through Alt+mouse wheel, but this isn’t listed in the “Configure Keyboard Shortcuts” dialog. It needs to be. Horizontal scrolling with Shift+wheel is totally standard, many people will have it in their muscle memory, and it’s terrible for one application to insist on doing it differently.

The very least would be to make it configurable, and the default should absolutely be Shift, not Alt.
