I cannot reproduce this. Can you post a screenshot? You can take a screenshot of spectacle by running spectacle in the terminal with the `-i` or `--new-instance` option. i tested on another device. Usually the whole screen went half transparent, the selection area had a blue border and was fully transparent. On my desktop the whole screen stayed as it is and the blue border of the selection area is not visible.
