SUMMARY
Hi, as I mentioned in the mailing list, I'm excited about the new autotags feature. I love being able to categorize pictures without depending on any external service. However, when I tried the latest weekly build, it took me a while to find where and how to trigger the auto-tagging feature, and I would have completely missed it if it weren't for a reddit post that showed it.

So, my feature request here is a better integration of this feature with the user interface. For instance, just being able to select a bunch of pictures and right click -> Auto-tag would really make a difference. Or from the main menu too.
The possibility of running auto-tag on newly found items after the initial scan would also be helpful, just like how running face detection is currently an option.

Let me know if it's feasible.

With 8.6.0, Auto-tags is now present in the Tags tab from left sidebar. It can be set to scan the preferred Albums from the collection.

It miss option in Tags main menu and context menu to scan with selected items.

These remarks are also valid for the Quality scan feature.

Hi Gilles,

I updated my Digikam to the latest version and I saw the new menu under the Tags panel. I think it's a big improvement. Being able to autotag via context menu would be convenient but it's not super-important to me. Feel free to close this request if you like.

Thanks!
