美味しい doesn't render properly.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run /msg <yourNicknameHere> 美味しい

OBSERVED RESULT
ç¾å³ãã

EXPECTED RESULT
美味しい

KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This problem occurs in multiple versions such as Konversation 1.9.23084, and likely in all versions before Konversation 1.9.23084. Other users were able to reproduce this problem.
I also tested this and produced the problem in a fresh installation of Fedora Workstation 39 (Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-39-1.5.iso)

You may also ask someone to send you a message containing the word 美味しい, this will appear garbled up, rendered incorrectly within Konversation.

confirmed.
Konversation can send the string just fine
no matter which client sends the string, Konversation *receiving* it results in
