Hi, can you install debug symbols for plasmashell and sddm? https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports#Debian (In reply to Akseli Lahtinen from comment #1) > Hi, can you install debug symbols for plasmashell and sddm? > > https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/ > How_to_create_useful_crash_reports#Debian Yes, those both are installed now. I should be able to get the backtrace soon since this occurs frequently. Managed to recreate it by putting my laptop to sleep then waking it up (I only had a new Firefox tab open right after a fresh reboot). The following is the new back trace: (unffortunately connects are limmited to 65535 characters, so here is a pastebin link): https://pastebin.com/V5Ti1sqh Created attachment 164846 [details] Backtrace from nickquednow@gmail.com I uploaded the backtrace as a file just in case, since pastebin links can disappear. Created attachment 165191 [details]
path trace of segmentation fault
I have had numerous crashes since the start of this bug report, and here is another bacttrace from a crash using the pthread_kill, but instead the crash came from main instead of the new thread. I have not looked through the code, but it seems like some bit of memory is being overrun at some point and not being caught until the new thread gets spawned?
I would have to look at the code to confirm, but I have seen behavior like this before in multi-threaded apps that I have created.
