STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. press Print screen on keyboard
2. Directly, click Active Window
3. Program closes.

OBSERVED RESULT
1.press Print screen on keyboard 2. Directly, click Active Window 3. Program closes.    However, sometimes, if other options like Current Screen or All Screens etc, are selected first, then Active Window works and program continues.
With 3 monitors, any type of screen selection, records all three screens.  older versions of this program under Mint 17.2 and Kubuntu, would record each screen separately, depending on where you drag the app screen.

Unfortunately, there is not enough information here to proceed. Closing since this is likely only relevant for a version of spectacle that will soon be unsupported.
