STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. set up plasma with a top panel and global menu widget
2. start a plasma session
3. open an app that supports global menu widget and try to click on a top level item (File, Help, etc) in the global menu

OBSERVED RESULT
global menu disappears

EXPECTED RESULT
global menu doesn't disappear and sub menu appears

This is an intermittent issue, but has been persistent for a while

I'm sorry, but why was the keyword for the version changed from 5.91.0 to 5.27.10?  I haven't had this issue in my Plasma 5 installs ever, it seems like it is specific to Plasma 6.

I haven't seen this issue for a few weeks now, I'm going to assume it got fixed somewhere, somehow.
