After opening the 'Settings' - Dialog, the programs window content crashes, and the titlebar disappears, too. The menubar keeps visible and functional.

It's reproducible with 8.2.0 ?

Sorry for the delay, 8.2 isn't available via the Ubuntu softwarecenter,  I had to install it by downloading manually from the digikam website. In 8.2 the issue is not reproducible, and in this version the German language adaptation is also complete; in version 8.1 from the Ubuntu software center the localization is incomplete. Thanks for your quick help!

Ubuntu distributes digiKam as a snap package. Snap packages are useless, they use a sandbox. The problem with Ubuntu and digiKam as a Snap package has a long history.
