I think it's the same problem than report 478084. See this comment as solution: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=478084#c8 Gilles Caulier This behavior is normal, the person tags are initially created in the language in which the application is started. As with people's names, they are not translated when the language changes. You can change the tag names manually. Maik Another note, since the "People" tag is part of the tag path, you have to choose a language variant. Otherwise the “People” word in the metadata would constantly change. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they want it in English or another language. Maik (In reply to Maik Qualmann from comment #2) > This behavior is normal, the person tags are initially created in the > language in which the application is started. If it is only the way how it is shown but not how it is stored in metadata, then this is fine. No need to solve. Maybe it could be noted in the documentation. |
Created attachment 164182 [details] Person mix German English SUMMARY I installed digiKam via choco on Windows and it was in German. Because all documentation is in English, I changed the primary language to German [Deutsch (de)]. But now still parts of the program are in German and not in English. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. install in German 2. change primary language from "Deutsch (de)" to "US-English" 3. restart and use the program 4. check the people section OBSERVED RESULT see screenshot in the Person section the tree starts with - Person - unbestätigt - unbekannt - ignoriert EXPECTED RESULT - people - unconfirmed - unknown - ignored SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: Widows 11 macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
