STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch digiKam
2. Current album displays
3. On the left menu, click "Map"
4. An empty dialog window is shown

OBSERVED RESULT
An empty dialog window is shown

EXPECTED RESULT
The dialog windows is not shown OR it shows a meaningful message

Problem is now fixed in next 8.3.0 release. You can test with the Windows installer pre-release available here :
