Correction: this may not be a regression. The bookmark shortcut in my IDE was Ctr+Shift+F11. Still, Ctrl+Alt+F11 is too easy to press accidentally compared to its destructive effect. Ctrl-Alt-Fx are used to switch to virtual consoles. It is not destructive -- you can get back to the GUI with either Ctrl-Alt-F1 or Ctrl-Alt-F2. Nowadays it is still useful for doing system admin stuff when the graphical environment stops working. (In reply to fanzhuyifan from comment #2) > Ctrl-Alt-Fx are used to switch to virtual consoles. I don't see any visual feedback after pressing Ctrl+Alt+F11, other than the mouse cursor freezing. Is this expected? Is this expected? If you have virtual consoles configured, you should see a login prompt. What happens when you do Ctrl+Alt+F3/F4? Do you see a login prompt then? I am not sure what the expected behavior is when you try to switch to a virtual console that is not configured. For me when I do that I see a blinking cursor on a black screen. |
