SUMMARY
I refer to bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476377 where I reported issue that mplayer is not able to switch to full screen. It turned out that this is because too old version of mplayer provided by Neon Unstable Edition.

Could you please upgrade mplayer to version 1.5.x or higher to it be able to support Wayland?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. mplayer video file
2. Press "F"
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT
Happens nothing

EXPECTED RESULT
I should get full screen with opened video file.

Is there any chance to update mplayer to higher version in Neon Unstable?

Please notice that fullscreen doesn't completely work for wayland session with version 1.4 of mplayer. 
And smplayer crashes, probably because of old version of mplayer.

Would be also very nice if you would update ffmpeg libraries (libav... libsw... etc.) and mpv video player.
