Right, Discover is an "app store" and not a package manager. It's not meant to find technical packages like SDDM that your distro should have already pre-installed for you. Seems below message published at Nov 3rd, 2023 in "This week in KDE: Plasma 6 Alpha approaches" was misleading. I cannot find what I "expecting when you search for something that exists and is available". "Discover’s search has been hugely improved, and now generally always returns the results you’re expecting when you search for something that exists and is available" That piece of text was meant to be read as "the search now does a better job of finding the things that it's meant to find" and not "the search now finds new things that it was not previously meant to find." |
