SUMMARY

When I try to open Spectacle on Wayland on Ubuntu 22.04 (64 bit), Gnome 42.9 it doesn't open.
Error message:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use Ubuntu 22.04
2. Login with Wayland
3. Try to open Spectacle

OBSERVED RESULT
Spectacle doesn't open


EXPECTED RESULT
Spectacle works on Xorg, but not on Wayland.

Thanks for the report. Unfortunately, this is expected behavior since Spectacle relies on KWin DBus API on Wayland. Also, Spectacle 21.12.3 is no longer supported, but 23.08 and the unreleased 24.02 don't support GNOME on Wayland either.
