The reporter is unsure if this crash is reproducible.

Hi,

Sound like a broken binary compatibility.

Can you reprodduce the crash with the 8.2.0 pre-release appimage bundle for Linux available here :

This problem is fixed in digiKam-8.2.0 with bug 473801, it has nothing to do with the Tools menu. New albums are added in the background.

the 8.2.0 AppImage seems to work fine so far. I'll wait for the official release to update my installations (Linux and Win10), to avoid database incompatibilities between the versions.
